FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The National Federation of Masqueraders and Fancy Dress of Ghana (NFMFD Ghana) has officially opened a call for participation for the Montreal Carnival 2026, scheduled to take place in Montreal, Canada, from July 3rd to July 5th, 2026. This initiative forms part of the Federation’s ongoing efforts to promote Ghanaian masquerade and fancy dress culture on international platforms.
The Montreal Carnival is a globally recognized cultural event that attracts thousands of spectators and participants from diverse backgrounds. Through this participation, NFMFD Ghana aims to showcase the vibrancy, creativity, and cultural depth of Ghanaian masquerade traditions to a global audience.
Ghanaian masquerade and fancy dress groups selected for the carnival will take part in colorful parades, cultural displays, and performances that highlight Ghana’s heritage, artistry, and storytelling traditions. The event provides an exceptional platform for cultural exchange and international visibility.
This international engagement is being organized in partnership with Glitz and Glam Toronto and Lux Carnival, established carnival organizations in Canada with a strong reputation for delivering world-class cultural events. The partnership ensures professional coordination and a rewarding experience for all participating groups.
NFMFD Ghana is inviting registered masquerade groups, fancy dress troupes, and cultural performers across Ghana to express interest in representing the nation at this prestigious event. Participation will also strengthen ties with the Ghanaian diaspora and foster cultural unity abroad.
In addition to performance opportunities, the Montreal Carnival experience offers participants exposure to international audiences, networking opportunities, and the chance to promote Ghana as a cultural tourism destination. The Federation believes this initiative will further enhance Ghana’s presence in the global carnival community.
Interested groups and individuals are encouraged to contact the Federation for further information regarding registration, travel arrangements, and participation requirements. NFMFD Ghana remains committed to advancing Ghanaian culture globally through structured partnerships and international cultural engagements.
