The National Federation of Masqueraders and Fancy Dress of Ghana (NFMFD Ghana) has officially announced a call for participation for the Toronto Carnival 2026. The invitation targets Ghanaian masquerade and fancy dress groups eager to showcase their culture on an international stage.
The Toronto Carnival, one of Canada’s most celebrated cultural festivals, is scheduled to take place in Toronto from July 30th to August 3rd, 2026. The event attracts thousands of spectators, performers, and cultural enthusiasts from across North America and beyond.
Renowned for its vibrant parades, colorful costumes, and dynamic performances, the carnival provides a unique platform for cultural expression. Ghanaian masqueraders will have the opportunity to present their rich traditions and creative artistry to a global audience.
This year’s international engagement is organized in partnership with Glitz and Glam Toronto and Lux Carnival, two prominent carnival organizations in Canada. The collaboration ensures professional coordination and a structured experience for all participants.
NFMFD Ghana is extending invitations to masquerade groups, fancy dress troupes, cultural performers, and creative artists who wish to represent Ghana with pride. Participants will also engage with the Ghanaian diaspora, fostering unity and cultural identity.
Beyond performances, the carnival offers opportunities for cultural diplomacy, networking, and tourism promotion. Attendees will experience Canada’s multicultural environment while contributing to a celebration of diversity and creativity.
Interested groups and individuals are encouraged to prepare early and reach out to NFMFD Ghana for details on participation requirements, travel arrangements, and scheduling.
NFMFD Ghana remains committed to promoting Ghanaian masquerade culture internationally, using strategic partnerships and cultural events to showcase the nation’s artistic heritage.
