The National Federation of Masqueraders and Fancy Dress of Ghana (NFMFD Ghana) has officially announced a call for participation for the Toronto Carnival 2026, inviting Ghanaian masquerade and fancy dress groups to take part in one of Canada’s largest and most celebrated cultural festivals.
The Toronto Carnival is scheduled to take place in Toronto, Canada, from July 30th to August 3rd, 2026. The event is expected to attract thousands of spectators, performers, and cultural enthusiasts from across North America and beyond, providing a vibrant platform for international cultural exchange.
Renowned for its energetic parades, colorful costumes, music, and dynamic performances, the Toronto Carnival offers a unique opportunity for Ghanaian masqueraders to present their traditions, creativity, and cultural storytelling to a global audience. Ghana’s participation will further enhance the carnival’s diversity and artistic richness.
This international cultural engagement is being organized in partnership with Glitz and Glam Toronto and Lux Carnival, two respected carnival organizations in Canada. The collaboration ensures professional coordination, international exposure, and a structured experience for all participating groups.
NFMFD Ghana is extending a special invitation to Ghanaian masquerade groups, fancy dress troupes, cultural performers, and creatives who are ready to represent Ghana with pride on an international stage. Participants will engage with the Ghanaian diaspora while promoting unity, heritage, and cultural identity.
Beyond performances, the Toronto Carnival presents opportunities for cultural diplomacy, networking, and tourism promotion. Participants will experience Canada’s multicultural environment while contributing to a celebration that values diversity, creativity, and shared cultural heritage.
Interested groups and individuals are encouraged to prepare early and contact the Federation for further information regarding participation requirements, travel arrangements, and scheduling. NFMFD Ghana remains committed to projecting Ghanaian masquerade culture globally through strategic partnerships and international cultural events.
